Reflective
I feel that the best piece of work I can choose to represent myself, as a reflective person is a case study report, assessing an individual’s fitness and physically active level. This is completed by evaluate the interviewee’s lifestyle with regard to their physical activity ( or lack of) and propose solutions to physical activity problems that may exist for them and others in the community. This case study is graded with criterion A for the use of knowledge in physical education.
I think that this case study demonstrated my attributes of a reflective person, as it was based on my personal opinions and evaluation of the individual’s fitness and lifestyle. Whilst assessing other’s, I was also able to reflect on my own fitness level through comparison with other people in my age group, and also application of knowledge gained from research. During the process of creating interview questions and interviewing, I learnt about the important actions an average person must carry out in order to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. I also learnt about the different factors in both the society and environment we face daily, that prevents us from enjoying a healthy lifestyle. During the assessment, I also showed characteristics of being reflective when I reflected on possible positive and negative influences on the individual’s physical activity, as well as provide a thoughtful and researched suggestion on how to improve the quality of physical activity. When the assessment was marked, I was also able to read Mr. Morgan’s comments of my work to understand what I could to better in order to improve similar future assessment’s as well as apply such knowledge to improve my personal lifestyle.
The main purpose of this case study is to evaluate an individual’s lifestyle with regard to their physical activity levels and to propose solutions to physical activity that may exist for them or others in the society. For my target interviewee, I have selected a person who carries out similar amount of physical activities as myself, hence can easily compare our fitness levels through the written report. I began the task by creating a list of ten interview questions based on the individual’s health, duration of physical activities per week, motivation towards sports, barriers preventing physical activities and influences of physical activities, etc. These questions are designed to assist me in evaluating their physical activity level, positive and negative influences on physical activity and their thoughts on how to improve physical activity. After the evaluation, I can conclude that my interviewee’s physical activeness levels in terms of intensity, duration and frequency is excellent, hence have used his lifestyle to suggested solutions for others in the community.
In conclusion, I feel that I did well with this case study as I showed the value of a reflective student by being able to think about what I have learnt, how well I can process and apply the knowledge to real life and how I can improve.
