LEADERSHIP
Domino Effect 2013
Domino Effect is a student workshop held by Renaissance college in collaboration with Li Po Chun United World College. It is a two days program designed to educate and prepare junior high students from Renaissance college on how to acquire good leadership skills. This program went over a two day period, the first in our own school, and the second day in LPC. Scholars from our school collaborated with several students from LPC to design a series of activities with the main of teaching the attributes of a good leader, as well as scenarios to train the students. Within the two day period, my most memorable activity was a scenario based activity which I was in charge of organizing and leading. In preparation for the activity, I have listed out a series of conditions that the participants would meet, used to test and practice their reactions as a leader should be under the circumstances. I felt that this event has boosted my confidence in public speaking, as well as strengthened my leadership skills. Furthermore, I have demonstrated myself as a communicator, as I am able to work collaboratively and effectively with students outside of our school. Overall, this was a memorable experience that would help me in managing future leadership roles.

Year 2 Studio Time
Year Two Studio Time was one of the best opportunities that I met this year. It taught me many essential conditions in order to be a good role model and leader for the younger generation. During this service, I demonstrated myself as a good leader through communication with the year two students and trying to understand things from their point of view. Through this activity, I learnt that responsibility, good communication skills, patience and cheerfulness are one of the key features a good leader must posses.

CUHK Medicine Summer Clinical Attachment Program
During the summer before this academic year began, I have been accepted to attend the medical summer clinical attachment program held by Chinese University of Hong Kong, designed to give high school students who have an interest in pursing a medical career in their future a better chance to understand the subject of medicine. I have been one of the 180 students selected out of m=over a thousand of applications this year. Throughout the program, we were given many opportunities in a practical sense, as well as basic lectures which informs us about everything we will be facing if accepted into the medicine program. We have received lectures on the duties of medical staff, as well as university application requirement and tips. The most interesting part of this program for me is the activities which gave us an experience of the entire career. This included a tour around the Prince of Wales hospital and CUHK school campus, opportunities to work with medicine students for the entire week, watch a live micro-surgery and best of all, an entire day of doctor shadowing session. The doctor shadowing session was the most memorable part of the five day program, as we followed a particular doctor around during their working hours and experiencing their different work schedules. The doctor I have been assigned to is Dr. Wong from the urology department. This has been the most outstanding activity for me, as it taught me that a medical staff's duty is not only to treat their illness, but it is important to take care of their emotions as well. Being a doctor, we also have to learn and accept the death of patients, regardless of their best efforts to rescue them. I feel that this is a very useful and enriching experience, preparing me for what I will need to face in order to successfully become a good medical staff in my future career.

Summer Internship at Active Care Group Medical Management Centre
In preparation for my personal project, I have applied for a 40 hour summer internship at the only medical management center in Hong Kong over the summer holidays. Through this session, I have been able to gain more basic knowledge about the structure of Hong Kong residential care services for the foundation of my personal project research, as well as experience what it is like to be working in the society. My main job throughout the sessions was to organize the medication of each individual elderly into a five day packs that helps elderlies identify which medication they are suppose to take during various times of the day. Other tasks included registering patient's records into the systems and visiting various residential care homes to distribute the medication packs to the patients. This has been a wonderful experience, helping me to boost my confidence in front of professionals, and also prepare myself for what it is like to work with others in an unfamiliar environment.
