Balanced
The piece of work I chose to represent my attributes of a balanced person is a personal six week fitness plan to improve my own fitness designed within the Physical Education fitness unit. This assessment was only graded based on criterion D for social skills and personal engagement.
I feel that this fitness plan have really represented myself as a balanced person as I displayed my awareness towards the importance of sports to maintain a healthy lifespan. During the process of composing this fitness plan, I learnt the importance of the balance of sports, which not only improves my healthcare, but also relieves emotions and the stress of work. I have also gained a better understanding of my personal fitness levels in comparison to other people in my age group, and have also learnt different ways to improve the targeted weaknesses in the most convenient and suitable way that can blend into our daily lifestyle without bringing too much disturbance or is too time consuming. Whilst studying the exercises that can improve our weaknesses, I have also understood more about different components of fitness, as well as principles of training which helped me to further maintain a healthy lifestyle.
This assessment required me to design a six week fitness plan divided two sections three weeks session. I began designing the first block of exercises by targeting the weakness identified from my fitness test. Slightly different to the other students of the class, I have chosen to base my goal of this fitness plan on a divisional one swimming competition that was coming up at the time. I planned my training sessions focusing on the specific components of fitness that would improve my performance during my events. Whilst coming up with exercises built in a realistic and endurable sequence for my fitness level, I made reference to my swimming training sessions outside of school for the frequency of training sessions a week, duration, and intensity. This has helped my improve my plan, making it more realistic and possible to complete. After carrying out the plan for three weeks, I reviewed my results with the competition that took place over the weekend. This was a test that I have identified for myself to strive for improvement. The second set of the plan was mainly similar to the first, but I have incorporated elements of progressive overload to improve my performance and skills, as I have shown improvement in my times. Progressive overload is to increase the intensity of similar exercises after your body and muscles have adjusted to the training. I felt that this assessment was well completed, as I it was realistic and have improved my aerobic endurance and other components of fitness. I have made references to professional opinions and professional training when necessary, making my assessment a safe and useful plan to follow.
Overall, I think that I had completed this assessment with enthusiasm to the best of my abilities. My hard work towards this assessment had rewarded me with full marks in the assessed criteria. This work had clearly demonstrated my traits of a balanced person of the importance of sports and a healthy body. It also taught me a lot of essential and interesting facts. I feel that this is one of the assessments that I truly did well in yet enjoyed.
